Here at Airport High School, most students probably go to church. However, some do not, either because they do not believe in God or maybe are just too lazy to get up early on a Sunday. In my opinion, everyone should go to church. I know that I go and attend church every Sunday and think that everyone should also do so.

First of all, I think that everyone should go to church because the church teaches good lessons about kindness. One way the church teaches kindness is by welcoming diverse people and praising the Lord together just like one big family. Living with the help of the holy spirit is very important in being a Christian even though it can be hard the Lord will help you get through it.

Secondly, going to church gives families something free to do together while they aren’t at work. Rather than go to a movie or restaurant, which can cost lots of money, church is free! Some reasons for why people should go and attend church is so they can live a happy life through praising the Lord and to one day go to Heaven.

Third, the church that I go to is very diverse. There are all different kinds of races in my church. So, it helps you meet new people and make new relationships with strangers. The Church doesn’t kick you out because you’re not like everyone else. They welcome everyone and help each other get through problems that you may be struggling with and help you become a better follower of Jesus.

Mr. Samuels, a social studies teacher at Airport High School stated the following: “I think church is a good place for people to go and meet other like minded individuals who share the same beliefs as each other. The Church gives people something to believe in and I think that is a nice benefit of people going to church in the first place.”

Ms. Niland, an English teacher and my creative writing teacher, said, "I think religion is a personal choice, but it can be extremely powerful for those who find a comfortable space for them. For people that go to church, it can be a safe space where they can connect with others that share similar values. This creates a community where people build each other up based on those shared values. Church can offer various things to meet its patrons' needs: it can be structured if someone needs tradition and order, or it can be fun for those who want to form connections through shared experiences."

In conclusion, the church is a great place for people to attend no matter what race or the person you are, the church welcomes everybody that walks through the door. Church is a place where you can make new relationships, meet new people, and get closer to Jesus.
