Brian I.
Brian is a 17 years old senior student of Airport High School. Brian was born on the day of May 16 year of 2002 in the country of Mexico, city of Monterey, which in English is translated to the Mountain of Kings.
Brian participates in extracurricular activities such boxing, and he plans to join the amateur leagues after he graduates and soon after enter the professional leagues since is has been one of his goals for a long while.
Brian does not have any previous history of qualification for writing for The Eyrie but he does indeed have experience with computer programming and web page design. Brian also has had some writing history with courses he took his previous years such as English 1 2 & 3. Sadly, Brian does not have much desire to become a journalist since he does not enjoy writing a lot but he is lucky he has an open mind and will try to do his best in journalism. The reason for not really liking journalism is because he has seen some of the projects and assignments as well as the things the journalism from at CNN, his most preferred TV news show, and he thinks it is a lot of work to endure.
So as you can see Brian is just like any other kid at Airport High School. In fact, he enjoys drawing “still life” as well as portraits of people and is pretty great at it. Unfortunately, he has zero creativity, so he cannot really draw ideas from how own mind.
In terms of hobbies, Brian enjoys almost every type of music including rap but he prefers to listen to Rock and Pop song. In fact, his favorite song is “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” by Green Day. He also likes any song that plays the classical acoustic guitar, reason being he himself has tried to play but has not yet succeeded in doing so correctly. In Brian's spare time he enjoys to watch Youtubers such as Jacksepticeye and Ssundee as well as almost any Minecraft video since he is a real nerd but he does not care since Minecraft is the best game in the world in his opinion. In fact, Brian hopes to be able to program a video game set in medieval times. He also hopes to be able to write about video games news on The Eyrie. He may be able to contribute to The Eyrie by drawing and/or maybe coding new webpages for The Eyrie using things the knowledge he is learning in his web design class.
Caitlyn M.
Caitlyn is a ninth grader at Airport High School. She was born here in Columbia, South Carolina. In her free time, she plays soccer. In the Fall, she plays for her club team, and in the Spring she plays for Airport. Caitlyn has been on the girls JV team for the past two years mostly as a goalkeeper and center-mid. She has also been in Student Government for the past two years.
Caitlyn has taken English I and II. Her sister and mother have also previously written for The Eyrie when they went to Airport. Her mom wrote for The Eyrie back in the late 80s and early 90s, and her sister wrote for The Eyrie three years ago.
Caitlyn loves musical theatre and is almost always listening to showtunes. She is very animated and passionate about many things. Caitlyn knows a lot about the American Revolution and the founding of America. She loves to read up on that history, and could probably answer any question you have about that time. Caitlyn hopes to write about controversial topics for The Eyrie. She loves debating and discussing controversial things. Other than writing, she likes to draw and looks forward to doing artwork for The Eyrie.
Cameron M.
Cameron is a 14 year old boy born in Columbia, South Carolina. He is now currently living in West Columbia, South Carolina. He is a freshman starting school at airport high school. He doesn't participate in any extracurricular activities. He doesn't participate in any sports, although he did play for pine ridges football team last year, and he doesn't participate in student government. His qualifications that he has for writing for The Eyrie paper at airport high school are that he has taken courses like English one and is now taking journalism. He has an interest in sports news, like game statistics and how the players did. He also likes hews about the weather, like when a storm is coming. He also likes news about current media events, like the 9/11 anniversary that happened 2 days ago, or the attack on the Saudi Arabia oil company. Besides school, he likes play on his Xbox one and play games like Madden, Fortnite, and UFC. He also likes to play sports like football or basketball. He doesn't like to play sports like tennis or baseball. He also doesn't like to read books that are really long. In his spare time, he likes to play basketball outside and walk around his neighborhood. He hopes to write about sports and things going on around the school in The Eyrie.
Caroline U.
Caroline U. is currently a freshman at Airport High School, who was born and raised in West Columbia, South Carolina. She is currently playing volleyball for the JV team and plans on becoming involved in student government within the next few years. She has taken one prior English class and was on the morning news at her middle school. In addition to that, she has always been interested in broadcast journalism, especially videography. Her favorite news shows are Good Morning America and WIS News 10. Besides school, she really enjoys hanging out with her friends and being active, but she also loves to sleep. She is also a member of Christian Life Church and is actively involved in their youth group, which is called Union. She usually spends her spare time watching TV, scrolling through Instagram and babysitting her brothers. She really enjoys drawing and recently sold a majority of her artwork to help a family adopt a child. She is also a photographer and does shoots for anything like concerts and weddings. She hopes to write about the extracurricular activities going on at Airport like sports and school functions. She also hopes to use her photography and drawing skills to include images along with the articles in The Eyrie.
Emily S.
Emily Slice is a freshman at Airport High School and was born in West Columbia, South Carolina. Emily was on the Quiz Bowl Team for Pine Ridge Middle School in 7th and 8th grade and is planning on trying out for softball. Emily lives with her mom, dad, brother, and dog.
Emily has taken English l H in middle school and is taking English ll H in her second semester. Emily is very interested in podcasts like Crime Junkie, The Journal, The Misfits Podcast, SuperMegaCast, and the Jenna & Julien Podcast. Emily is confident about her knowledge of current events. She gets her information from CNN, The Guardian, The Washington Post, and social media.
Emily loves writing, reading, drawing, and music. She likes her friends, family, Marvel, and raccoons. She dislikes nuts, chemistry, mini-golf, and feet. For fun, Emily likes to hang out with her friends. Emily's favorite colors are yellow and green. Emily's favorite books are Lord of The Flies, To Kill a Mockingbird and The 5th Wave. Her favorite shows are The Office, New Girl, and Parks and Rec. Emily’s friends describe her as funny, short, reliable, and witty. Emily is excited to draw comics for The Eyrie as well as write articles about students' accomplishments.
Elizabeth T.
Elizabeth is currently a 17 year old senior at Airport High School. She was born on January 24 in Lexington Medical Center Hospital. She lives in a small city called Gaston. She doesn’t participate in any sport or in student government. Instead, she’s part of Airport High School Orchestra. She’s been playing the violin for about 6 years. She’s also very active in her church and youth ministry.
She has been taking English honors classes since 8th grade. She completed English 4 honors in 11th grade. She has no prior experience with journalism but is willing to try her best in every step of the way. She doesn’t have any specific interest in news or media. She usually doesn’t watch any news show on a daily basis.
Her favorite food is pizza and she dislikes broccoli. On her spare time she loves to read romance novels,bake dessert, and play with her younger sister. Her hobbies include playing the violin and watching Netflix. She’s very shy but very friendly. She always puts her friends and family before herself. She likes to help other people out. She hopes to write about what’s going on in Airport High School for The Eyrie.
Elizabeth T.
Haden is a 17 year young boy who lives here in Columbia with his mother and step father, his sisters, and his two dogs (Ollie and Bristol). He is a senior at Airport High School, and he has been apart of student government ever since 6th grade under the leadership of Daniel Bailey. Haden is the kicker for the Airport football team, and his farthest field goals is 63 yards.

His qualifications for The Eyrie are quite simple. He has completed all of English I, English II, English III, and English IV, all being honors of course, along with him keeping up with all events within the school through the Student Leadership course.

When Haden catches a break he enjoys to hang out with his beautiful girlfriend Ashton Long. He usually doesn’t have much free time between working, school, and football, but when he does he also likes to chill with his little sister and go to work on his car. Haden is known as the goofy class clown that is very extroverted and wears his heart on his sleeve. He could contribute to The Eyrie with photography and by writing about the sports within Airport High School. Haden is super exciting to take the life of a journalist and hopes to make an impact on the schools website.
Logan W.
This is Logan W. He was born and raised in South Carolina. Logan is a freshman at Airport high school and is a part of the baseball team. Logan has been a part of the Airport baseball team since he was in seventh grade. He currently lives in South Congaree.
Logan has taken one prior English to prepare him for writing the newspaper. He has been a part of the morning new for one nine weeks at Fulmer Middle School. He enjoyed this experience and can not wait to be a part of the newspaper crew at Airport High School. He watches WIS News Ten and The Today Show every morning to catch up on everything that is happening in our great state and nation.
Logan enjoys to hunt, fish, and play baseball. He also enjoys playing Fortnite and reading in his free time. Logan hopes to write about the Airport High School sports teams and keep the school updated on the Eagles record and scores. He would also like to write about student government and charity events that are happening around the school. Besides the writing of the Eyrie I would enjoy taking pictures for the newspaper.
Maggie P.
Maggie is a freshman at Airport High School. She was born in West Columbia and still lives there. She participated in Quiz Bowl in seventh and eighth grade. At Airport, she hopes to participate in yearbook and work on set design for plays.

She took English I Honors last year and made a 100 on her EOC; she is taking English II Honors this year. She watches WIS News 10 every morning and enjoys reading current event articles in her free time.

Maggie is interested in animals and owns two parrots, one dog, four chickens, and plans to get a kitten over winter break. You can follow her dog on Instagram @petey.petermann. Over the summer she unexpectedly showed miniature horses for her grandparents. She loves to create visual art and attended a summer camp for the arts at the Governor’s School in Greenville. She also plans to enter artwork into the State Fair this year. Maggie enjoys traveling and has been to 13 states including Wisconsin, New York, and Florida. She plans to make it 14 in February by going to Texas. She also enjoys movies; some of her favorites are Brokeback Mountain, The Green Mile, and The Birds. She hopes to write reviews of new movies for The Eyrie. She would also like to contribute artwork to the newspaper.
Marly S.
Marly is currently a freshman at Airport High School. She is 14 years old and has lived in West Columbia, South Carolina all of her life. Marly lives with her parents, two brothers, one sister, and two dogs. Marly doesn't participate in any extracurricular activities at Airport, but she does participate in some outside of school. She takes two types of dance and takes piano lessons along with school. In middle school, she was on her school’s Quiz Bowl team in the 7th and 8th grades, she was in the National Junior Honor Society, and she was named a South Carolina Junior Scholar in the 8th grade.
The only prior experience she has is completing English I in the eighth grade with an A in the class. Marly isn't very interested in news and mainly hears about current events on social media.
Some of Marly’s likes are reading/literature, music, dance, traveling, nature, history, science, and watching movies and shows. Some of her dislikes are most types of sports (she's fine with watching some of them, but not playing them), public speaking, and homework. In her free time, she loves to read, listen to music, sleep, watch Netflix, and get on her phone. Some of her hobbies are reading, playing piano, dancing, sewing, and writing if she can find the time to write. Marly is very interested in pharmacy and would like to pursue pharmacy after high school. Her current plan is to go to the University of South Carolina for her bachelor’s and then to the USC College of Pharmacy for her doctorate degree. Marly is a very quiet, shy, and hardworking person. Marly hopes to write about activities and events going on at Airport and contribute photography and a column idea or two for The Eyrie.
Payton J.
Payton is a 16 year old sophomore at Airport high school. She lives in West Columbia but was born in Florence, South Carolina. Payton plays tennis, participates in yearbook staff, and is also the sophomore class president. She has little experience in journalism but is ready to dive in. She is very interested in politics and world wide predicaments such as global warming and women’s rights. Payton is an outgoing caring teen who loves to sing, watch Netflix, and go to football games. She loves hanging out with her friends and decorating the hallways for events like homecoming week. Payton has moved around a lot all her life because of her dads job but is now forever staying in Columbia. She loves using metal or rubber straws for the environment. Payton makes funny Tiktoks with her friends or by herself because she is quirky. She believes that all people should have equal rights and opportunities. She hopes to make Airports issue aware to the whole student body, and inform the student body on what to look forward to in the upcoming year. Payton wants to be a speech pathologist when she gets out of high school but also write her own blog.
Princess M.
I’m Princess was born April 15, 2005, making her fourteen and a freshman. She was born in Austin, TX and lived there for 12 years of her life . In March 2018, her family moved to Hopkins, SC , but quickly moved to Swansea to be closer to her grandparents; however, she now lives in West Columbia . Princess is currently involved in no extracurricular activities at Airport but she used to be on her school's dance and volleyball teams.
While Princess has not taken any special classes to help prepare her for journalism, she has always been in advanced English and Writing classes. SHe did Photography in her old school and now still does it outside of school. She also used to be on the news cast for her school and would appear on the school TV every morning with any school news.
Outside of school, Princess loves to go on roadtrips or even simple car rides . She hates being at home all the time because she gets bored really easily. She loves taking care of and raising animals, too. She often rescues animals and give them great new homes . She likes to describe her personality as outgoing but it only depends on whom she is with . She is normally really shy when she first meets people, but she gets comfortable with new people really fast . She would like to add in photography and maybe even artwork into some articles she writes.
Savannah D.
Savannah was born Feb 21, 2003. She is from Seneca, SC. She currently lives in Columbia, South Carolina due to some behavior issues back in Seneca. She attends Airport High School, which is located in West Columbia. She is in the 10th grade but is re-taking some freshmen classes, so on her report cards it’s says she's in the 9th grade. She does not participate in any after school activities because she is usually busy at home. As far as writing for The Eyrie, the only thing that has helped her become a better writer is Mrs. Rasmussen's journalism class. She has not taken any other courses to help her prepare before this semester. She does not particularly have any interest in news. The only way she really finds stuff out that has happened recently would be on social media, like Snapchat or instagram. She actually does like social media. She would say that she spends most of her time on Snapchat or either listening to music through her earbuds. During her spare time, she stays at home either doing her chores or talking to her boyfriend most of the day because they don’t really get to see each other that often. She might watch a little bit of TV with her foster parents, but otherwise she is probably cleaning.
Stephen G.
Stephen G. is a 14 year old resident of West Columbia, South Carolina. He is a freshman and does not do any extracurricular activities due to not having an opportunity to do any extracurricular course or sports. He has previously taken Creative Writing courses and worked on the Student news in two previous schools. He has no current real interest in any news or media jobs, but that may change in the future to come. He does not watch any news, because it is very dull and boring. His current hobbies are reading comics and watching movies. The best movie in his opinion is Avengers Endgame, but a close second is A Walk to Remember. His goal for this class is to write intriguing articles with hopes that he will stir up in conversations between classmates. His favorite TV shows are currently The Flash and Arrow. As you can tell he is very interested in superheroes and anything superhero related. For example, he has seen every Marvel movie. He is also very interested in comedies because he finds them very very funny. He is also a memer and mainly uses memes when responding to text. This is the basics of the life of Stephen G.
