Adam
Adam Davis is a senior at Airport High School. He has lived here in West Columbia, South Carolina since his birth. While he does not live in the district, his mother works within the school district which grants him the right to school choice. Adam does love Airport, and can even be seen going to student activities such as dances, gatherings, and sporting events, and he is even a member of the Airport Bowling Team.

As far as credentials, Adam has taken English I, II, and III, AP Language, and Yearbook and has been a part of the Airport online news show. He feels fairly confident with his knowledge with current events in the political and entertainment industries, as he gets his information from Fox News, CNN, and other big names in news as well as social media.

In his free time, Adam likes to watch his favorite YouTubers. Adam hopes to put his input into the paper so that his audience can hear his opinion, and hopefully it will help them make their own informed opinion. Adam also hopes to learn more about his fellow classmates opinions and can’t wait to read them and maybe even learn more about what goes on in other people's minds.
Amber
Amber Walker is an 18 year old senior attending Airport High School. She is a middle child out of her nine brothers and sisters. She was born in Mississippi, but raised in South Carolina. She likes to consider herself the last of the Mississippians because from then on everyone else was born here in South Carolina. Now, Amber doesn’t like to sit at home and do nothing, so she finds things to do to keep her busy, like modeling class on Saturdays along with theater for her church, varsity orchestra on Wednesdays, along with Wednesday bible study. As you can see, she is very involved in church. If you can’t tell by now, and she plans on getting a job very very soon. She doesn’t play in sports, partially because she couldn’t make the team, but if she could play a sport it would be volleyball; she still enjoys playing with her friends nonetheless. Last but not least she is involved in Beta Club, helping the community and her school to a brighter and better future.
Amber, being a senior, has taken English’s I, II, III, and IV, all honors classes, with some pretty great teachers along the way to help her become the writer and thinker she is. To top it off, she has been in journalism before. Her 7th grade year attending Dutch Fork Middle School, she got to experience a little bit what it was like to be a journalist. She got to interview students, write stories on what happened in the news, and lots more. Now as silly as it sounds, she doesn’t really watch the news. She mainly “keeps up with the world” through social media, which she does admit is a bit of a stretch when it comes to getting solid facts, but hey, this is the world we live in today.
Outside of school, Amber likes to model, act, and help out at church. Not only is she somewhat a leader in school, she is a student leader at her church as well; but besides all of those things she really does like to spend time with her family. She says there is nothing like unity in a family, the laughs, the love, all in one place; it just doesn’t get any better than that. Regarding her dislikes, Amber doesn’t like discord and hate in a family household, or washing dishes, which with as many siblings as she has, it is no wonder she would not want to wash dishes late at night right after dinner. If her own words, Amber’s personality is calm yet out going, loud but soft, sweet but stern, caring and always loving. As far as writing for The Eyrie goes, she’s not quite sure what beat she hopes to cover, but she'll figure it out as she goes if that’s okay with the people, but she would most definitely want to add photography into the piece. She would add something like nature or just people in their most natural state, with their consent of course. These are just a few things or two to know about Amber Marie Walker.
Anthony
Anthony is an Airport High School senior who was born in Fort Walton Beach, Florida but has lived in West Columbia, South Carolina for most of his life. He has little to no interest in journalism/writing, and has no previous media or journalism experience. He doesn’t watch the news often, but when he does, it’s either WLTX, WIS, or Fox News. In his free time, he enjoys playing video games/ talking with friends and spending time with family. Austin
Austin Dickerson is a junior representing Airport High School and is a current resident of West Columbia, South Carolina. Ever since starting middle school, he started to be involved with athletics in general, following his three main courses of sport: basketball, football, and baseball. He plans to commit to Clemson University and hopes to master in the journalism category. It’s not just the sports he does; it’s based on what he studies. His family considers Dickerson as the “unofficial mascot” at Airport when involved in sports. He doesn’t physically play them, but he is involved on a regular basis. When it comes to high school sports, he’ll usually keep track of everyone in the state of South Carolina to determine region champions and state champions. When it comes to college sports, NCAA Division I will always be his main course, especially every school’s academic achievements across the nation. During his downtime, he’ll follow news not just in athletics; he’ll also follow news related to the filming industry whether it includes the Oscars, the Golden Globes, and the annual Golden Raspberry Awards. No matter what happens, he’ll be ready to assist at anytime. With the assist, no troubles or any error would ever occur at all.

Brett is an 18 year old boy born and raised in South Carolina. He is in 12th grade and he plays golf which he has played for three years now. His favorite holiday is Christmas because it is the birthday of our lord and savior Jesus Christ, and the presents are nice too. As for likes and dislikes, Brett likes to fish and play golf, and he also enjoys watching movies. As for dislikes, Brett really dislikes writing essays because it always seems to be a topic that doesn’t appeal to him. He hopes that he will enjoy writing if it is for a topic that he is interested in.
Brett’s list of qualifications for the newspaper are very small. It consists of one English I, English II, English II, and English IV.
Brett really hopes to write about some of the spring sports happening at Airport High School. Hopefully ones that people don’t hear a lot about like golf, tennis, and bowling. Some people don’t even know that these sports are played at Airport High School. He also hopes to write about all the good that Airport High School does that some people do not hear about, like the charity week where the students raise money for Camp Kemo.

Gabe
Gabriel is a senior currently attending Airport High School, with a major in mechanics, having taken auto mechanics over the course of the last two years through Airport High School and now the Lexington Innovation center. He has completed his ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification exams and as a result is now certified in automotive maintenance & light repair, as well as automotive brakes.
Gabe has a blatant passion for arts for its potential to involve creation and rebuilding and has a strong desire to establish himself as something of a Renaissance man. Accordingly, Gabe has begun seeking out several fields in which he believes are beneficial to building a life for oneself, both in a literal and metaphorical senses. He has lined up electrical classes, as well as wood shop and plumbing as a beginning attempt to reach his end goals in having a career with a creative, hands-on side.
Having completed English I-IV by the end of his junior year, pursuing journalism was a personal option he partook in for his senior year English credit.
From a young age, Gabe has shown love towards Mother Nature and environmental philosophies, or philosophies based around preserving the planet. He plans to bring environmental consciousness and political awareness to the school newspaper by addressing more eminent issues, along with potential ones we would be smarter to turn our attention to..
Jenna
Jenna D. is an 18 year old senior at Airport High School. Born in Columbia, raised in Chester, and after spending about four years in different parts of Tennessee, she has always returned to her roots.
Prior to the print journalism class, Jenna has been a part of digital multimedia, yearbook, and social media in business classes. She also has taken all four English honors classes, the first being in middle school. She has always held an interest for digital broadcasting and has been in each program since fourth grade.
Besides school, Jenna simply works then comes home, nothing special. She used to participate in Town Theater activities and Student Government but work has taken up virtually most of her time.
Jenna has a small obsession with poems. She loves the idea of deeper meaning behind things and finds them in her daily life. She is fascinated by the thought that a few short sentences can hit a part of a person's heart, pull at their emotions and make them think; she wants to have the same effect on people when she writes. So, Jenna would like to contribute poems, haikus, short stories, or even some inspirational quotes to The Eyrie. She may be a little flaky at writing and grammar but is excited to see what there is to learn in this class and helping with this newspaper.
