Ace R.

Ace R. is a freshman at Airport High School. She is a 14 year old resident of West Columbia, South Carolina. She currently is a part of the Marching Band as a member of the color guard and is excited to audition for winter guard next season and audition for the school musical or play if she has time.
Ace has taken English I at Pine Ridge Middle school and has had a passion for writing since the third grade. While she currently enjoys writing fiction and romance, she has always loved learning about current events and sharing them with others. Ace has been known to be able to write like she’s running out of time. Ace has recently realized she tends to live in a state of kalopsia, though doesn’t see that as a bad thing. She loves to take a break and smell the flowers and feel the world around her deeply, this is why she would love to work with writing opinionated articles, movie reviews, and gossip, along with anything at all related to history.
When Ace isn’t writing for Eyrie she’s probably writing a short story, on the phone with her friends, scrolling Pinterest, doing her makeup, and watching movies or sitcoms. She loves musicals, and spending time with her mom, dad, and calling her out of state brother. She is very excited to join your school newspaper, the Eyrie!
Aly G.​
Aly is currently a senior at Airport High School. She has a bright personality and has a strong passion for writing. Lately, she’s working on a book called The Golden Necklace. She is still in the process of finishing it and plans to share it with others to read it. She often listens to music a lot to move around and be motivated. She often prefers to be alone sometimes. She’s shy at first but outgoing once she gets to know you. She turns into a different person who laughs bubbly, smiles bright and communicates with others well. She plans to get an associate degree and wants to publish a few of her books for any readers or are interested in it. An ELA class is more than welcome to read it all together.

Alyssa R. is an 11th grade student at Airport High School. She is 16 years old and was born in Lexington, South Carolina. She comes from a family of one sister and one brother and she has two cats and two dogs. She tends to get good grades and takes Honors classes. She is a part of the varsity volleyball team. Alyssa has taken three English classes, including English 1,2, and 3 Honors, and she is currently taking Journalism. She does not have much experience in journalism but it is something that interests her. She has not had much interest in news shows but she loves true crime like Live PD or The FIrst 48. Besides school Alyssa has interests in things like hanging out with her friends, boyfriend, and family. Alyssa loves playing volleyball which she spends a lot of her free time doing. Some other things she enjoys doing in her free time are shopping, watching tv and movies, listening to music, and playing with my puppy. Alyssas favorite place to go is the beach, she loves the ocean and the sand. Her favorite season is summer along with fall. And her favorite artist is Taylor Swift. She's a very picky eater but her favorite food is pasta.
Anthony G.

Anthony is a 10th grade student who goes to Airport High School. He is 15 years old, and was born October 13, 2007. He strives to get good grades, and tries his best in all of his classes. He likes to look at things in a positive way, despite there being bad times he tries to enjoy the little moments in life. Anthony was born in Lexington, South Carolina.
Outside of school, Anthony likes to do edits and play games. He used to play soccer in 2016 - 2018. He likes soccer, games and editing, but dislikes roller coasters. Anthony is a really nice guy, with his own free time he likes to do edits and talk to his friends.
Some courses that have prepared Anthony were English I, Foundations of Algebra, Intermediate Algebra. These courses prepared him for Geometry and English II.
Aubrey E.

Aubrey is a 16 year old junior at Airport High School. She was born on December 20 in Lexington. She has moved from multiple areas in South Carolina but for now she lives in West Columbia. She has been to seven schools throughout her life. Before she moved to West Columbia she lived in Gilbert and went to Gilbert High School. She has taken journalism at her other school along with English I and English II. Aubrey is currently taking English III and creative writing this semester. She likes watching crime documentaries and reading news about things happening right now. Her favorite crime show is The First 48. Her favorite crime movie is The Godfather. She uses social media for her news and her favorite news website to use is CNN News. Aubrey likes to read, cook and listen to music. She also likes to take long walks and explore nature. Sometimes she likes to take photographs when she finds something interesting. At her old school was allowed to take photos around the school. She dislikes most vegetables and public speaking. Aubrey is known to be quiet and introverted. She would like to contribute
anything new or upcoming events to The Eyrie.

Ava C. is a sophomore at Airport High School. She was born at Bamberg Hospital on July 23, 2008 making her a Leo. Ava lives in Gaston, South Carolina off of Heather Hill. She doesn’t do extracurriculars but she likes to hang out with friends, sleep and cook. She used to play softball and t-ball when she was younger.
Ava has taken English 1 and is currently taking English 2 Honors. She doesn’t have a very big journalism career but she does journal at home. That's beside the point she is very excited to be Journalism and share her thoughts about positivity.
On the other hand though Ava loves to sit outside when its raining, being around her friends, complimenting people, going to the beach, cooking and many other things. She doesn’t like being lied to, fake friends, and disrespectful to teachers. When she is out of school she loves to nap a lot and make tiktoks. Ava has a very bright and bubbly personality, she is very giving to people, loud but not disrespectful loud, that personality only is at school though. At home she is a very chill goofy kid who helps out whenever she can. Ava thinks that this will help her with her career in psychology.
Brandis S.​

Brandis S. is now a 17 year old junior at Airport High School. This is her second course in Journalism with Dr. Rasmussen. While juggling work and school, she has still managed to keep fantastic grades. She is excited to see what the new school year brings. Brandis hopes to keep good attendance this time around so she doesn’t have to worry about it during the summer. She’s recently been staying to herself and focusing on the more important things in her life than drama and playing too much. She has thought about talking to the school’s guidance counselor to do her junior and senior year and graduate this year, 2023. Brandis will always be a very hard worker and continues to strive for her goals.
So far, Brandis has taken 2 of Dr. Rasmussen’s classes which she felt improved her writing. Even though she doesn’t plan on pursuing a Journalism career, she is grateful to learn from this class and participate in a school activity. Reading and writing have always been her favorite subjects. Her favorite tv shows are still true crime, thriller/horror, or mystery. After taking Dr. R’s class, and learning about the many life changing things that have happened in the world she has taken much more interest in keeping up with news within our society.
In her free time, all she really has time to do these days are go to school, then work, go home, sleep, and repeat all that the next day. She is always talking about how she need’s a beach trip because she’s stressed. Music will always be Brandis’s therapy, but the beach is next level for her. She considered joining an extracurricular activity for school, but realized she would never have the time. As she gets older she hopes to travel to different places and see more around the world. She fears that maybe she isn’t ready for the real world but as she matures she will realize she is ready to take it on.
Chloe W.

Chloe is a 9th grade student who goes to Airport High School. She is 14 years old, and is an only child. Chloe was born March 15th, 2009, which makes her a Pisces. She was born and raised in South Carolina her whole life. Chloe can sometimes come off as rude but she is truly a kind and very caring person to be around.
Chloe has taken standard English all her life, most recently at Fulmer Middle School, but her 8th grade English class qualified her to take honors English her freshman year. Although Chloe doesn't have any prior experiences in writing articles or in news, she has always enjoyed writing essays and TDAS. Chloe would enjoy writing for the airport's school newspaper and updating people on the stuff that goes on in Airport High School.
In her spare time, Chloe likes to go shopping, eat Mexican food, hang out with her friends and hang out with her family. Another thing Chloe loves is listening to music and artists such as Rod wave, NBA YoungBoy, Lil Baby, Zach Bryant and J Cole which are just a few of her favorite artists. Somethings Chloe dislikes are math, waking up early and arguments. To describe Chloe's personality I would say she is sweet, loves to laugh, and always down for a good time. She is very excited to learn new things about journalism and see how things turn out.
DONTERRON G.

Donterron was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He currently attends Airport High School. He is 16 years old and attends Airport High as a junior (11th grade). This is his second to last year attending the school in 2024 he will become a senior and will graduate in 2025. Sports isn't a big thing for him but he did complete a season of track and he did in fact enjoy it but didn´t return to the sport. He pursued his newly created treats business known as Sweets Factory that´s had hundreds of customers and more to come in the future.
Donterron hasn't taken any major classes that have to do with writing except basic English classes. Growing up he used to aspire to be a writer as he used to write many stories of his own during his younger days, so Journalism is something that he loves to be a part of. He loves to read and look at articles in his free time even though it may seem like he has no interest; he's infatuated with reading and writing. His favorite website to read upon is The New York Times. He loves the random information you can find and also the important things. Journalism and the many other classes that are going to prepare him for the reading and writing portion of his life are greatly appreciated by Donterron.
During his free time Donterron likes to watch TV and lounge around comfortably in his PJs and remain carefree of the outside world. His favorite shows are Pretty Little Liars and Gossip Girl, along with many other shows and movies he likes to watch. Many don't know this but swimming is his favorite sport to do. He's been swimming as a hobby and attended swim teams since he was 10. Donterron´s personality pulls people to him. He has such a welcoming soul and that's one of the main highlights about him. Some don't get to see his fun silly ide but once he gets comfortable around you it's kind of hard to forget about him.
Dyllan C.

Dyllan is a Sophomore at Airport High School. He is 15 years old and was born July 13, 2008. He is the youngest son of four and has 5 pets. He was born and raised in Lexington, South Carolina. He enjoys hanging out with friends and family during the day. Dyllan enjoys horror movies but ones that are actually scary not those fake ones. There’s not many things that will make him mad other than people interrupting or people chewing with their mouth open right in front of him. He enjoys listening to music during school and classes, even though he knows now that his newspaper class teacher, Dr. R., will not be letting him. Overall, Dyllan is not the best at school but still tries his best. Outside of school, Dyllan is excited about driving soon. He has gotten his permit already but has to wait until January to get his license. Dyllan has five pet turtles which he loves but they are getting on his nerves. He lives with his Grandpa and older sister Ariel who is a senior here at Airport High School. He doesn’t really want to be in the class Journalism but has stayed because his bestie Savvy is in there. He’s not the best writer but does what he can think of. He likes taking welding and electricity at the Innovation center.

Ellie is a junior at Airport High School. She was born in Lexington, South Carolina on March 18, 2007. She currently lives in Gaston, South Carolina. Ellie is a three sport athlete and participates in Volleyball and Cross Country in the fall, and Track and Field in the spring along with club volleyball for the Intense Volleyball team. She also participates in the French Club when she can.
Ellie has taken English I honors, English II honors, and English III honors to prepare her for Journalism. She has never had another class like Journalism, but she hopes to grow her writing abilities throughout this course. Ellie sometimes watches WIS News 10 with her grandparents when she is at their house.
Ellie likes to go to church on Wednesday’s and Sunday’s, she also likes to spend time at her family's lake houses. In her spare time she loves to listen to Taylor Swift and watch true crime shows. Ellie likes to work over the summer and practice saving her money, and she also likes to read. She hopes to write about topics that interest her and that she feels passionate about.

Emma is a 15 year old sophomore, or in other words she’s in 10th grade. Emma was born in West Columbia, South Carolina and she still resides here. She does not participate in any extracurricular activities in school or out of school. She enjoys writing, drawing, nature, sleeping, eating, and hanging out with her boyfriend. In her free time youll usually catch her at home listening to music and hanging out with her boyfriend. Emma tries to make memories wherever she goes. She always has to take a picture of something so that memory will always be in the palm of her hand. One of Emma's favorite things to do is sleep, and she will sleep anywhere and everywhere. Emma tends to be quiet, but once you get to know her she will be loud, try to be “funny” and an upfront person. Emma dislikes crowds of people, disrespectful people, being woken up, and people that don't understand boundaries. Emma has taken English 1 in the past year, and is now taking Journalism and Creative Writing. Emma wants to do the best for The Eyrie. She has no experience writing besides writing in her journal. Emma can not be more excited to write for The Eyrie.
Geraldine D.

Geraldine is a 15 year old sophomore student at airport high school. Geraldines birthday is January 2nd, 2008. She was born in columbia, south carolina. Growing up she was always academically smart with honor classes. Geraldine likes art and writing. Her favorite subject is history. Geraldine has earned 5 golden pins for god academic in elementary and she had A’s and B’s in middle school.
Journalism is one of the thoughts Geraldine has for a career. Geraldine works hard to achieve her goals. She is very outgoing, has good leadership skills and great companionship. She has never taken journalism but she's enjoying the Journalism 1 class she has now.

Belle O. is currently a junior at Airport High. She was born at Lexington Medical Center during the afternoon on September 19, 2006. She currently lives in Lexington, South Carolina. Outside of school she likes to attend Dixiana Baptist Church, play softball, swim, and hang out with her friends. She currently lives with her parents and three dogs. To go along with her family she has two older brothers and a bunch of cousins.

Belle O. has almost wrapped up her English credits. In the spring semester she will be taking English IV Honors. Though Journalism 1 may not have been her first choice, she will put in her best effort. She is also a dual enrollment student. Dual Enrollment is when a high school student takes college classes as well as their high school classes. She will be taking English 101 and 102 soon. Her original career choice was to be a news anchor until she took classes related to the medical field. She's even been on the news before! Her favorite news show is WIS news 10.

Her personality is shy but she's also a social butterfly. For the Eyrie she hopes to write on sports, comics, advice, or opinions. Another hope of hers for the Eyrie is to do photography or columns.

My name is Jaden Hernandez, a senior at Airport high school. I was born in the favelas of the beautiful country Brazil, a city called “Mogi das Cruzes.” I’ve participated in the soccer program at my school since the seventh grade, 4 years of high school varsity and 2 years on JV as a middle schooler. In my 4 years here, I’ve taken English 1-3 Honors and am currently taking the fourth English. Soccer is a big part of my life so I keep updated with all the news about it and all the transfers of players. Transfer in soccer would be when a player is sold to another team or bought. I find this very interesting because if big names in the sport make a move to another team it could cause a lot of drama to some of the fans from the old and new club team.
To whomever is reading this, my whole life is soccer, I'm nothing without it! I love to play and recently went through one of the hardest recoveries from an injury any athlete could go through, ACL/Meniscus repair surgery. I think going through this whole recovery made me love the grind of going somewhere with the sport no one really understands how much I want it. In the future whenever I get the opportunity to write an article I'd love to write about how sports could be so much more than a hobby to kill time and have fun.

Jimena is a freshman at Airport High School. Jimena was born and lives in Columbia, South Carolina. Jimena enjoys watching movies. Her favorite movies are Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn Part One and Dawn Part Two. Jimena also likes listening to music. Her favorite artists are Girl in Red, Steve Lacy, and Mac Demarco. She loves spending time with her friends and family but most of all she loves doing makeup on herself and other people. Since Jimena was very little she's always wanted to do makeup on herself but professionally as well. Jimena wants to do makeup professionally and have her own makeup brand. Jimena has been inspired by celebrity makeup artists such as Patrick Ta, Mario Dedivanovic and charlotte tilbury who all own their own makeup line. Jimena has also been inspired by special effect makeup artists such as Greg Nicotero and Rick Baker who did the special effect makeup for many movies like The Walking Dead and Men in Black 3. Jimena hopes to one day become a makeup artist or a special effects makeup artist so she can do celebrity makeup for movies or performances. Jimena also hopes to own her own brand one day.

My name is Juan. I was born in South Carolina, United States. I am in 11th grade in Airport High School. I don’t get involved with after school activities or be part of student government. I have taken English I, 3, and now I am taking English 3. I don't really watch the news a lot but when I do I sometimes watch Inside Edition . What I like about school is being able to talk to friends. In my free time I like to learn about cars or play video games. I hope to learn more about journalism in general and also improve my writing by working for The Eyrie.

Kayla is currently a senior at Airport High School. She was born on December 14, 2005, making her 17 years old, and will soon be turning 18. She was born and raised in West Columbia, South Carolina. She does not participate in any extracurricular activities at the moment as she is searching for an after-school job.
While Kayla doesn’t have experience in Journalism, she has completed multiple honors English courses throughout high school. She is also dually enrolled in Midlands Technical College and has completed an English 101 course, and will be taking English 102 in the spring. While Kayla is not the type of person to watch the news every single morning, she does enjoy staying updated with current events.
In her free time, Kayla likes to listen to and discover new music. The most used app on her phone is definitely Spotify, as she is always listening to her favorite artists such as Lana Del Rey, Phoebe Bridgers, and Jeff Buckley. She also enjoys watching movies and reading their reviews. One of her favorite places to read movie reviews is the app called LetterBox, as instead of professional movie critics giving reviews, it is normal everyday people sharing their thoughts. This gives the reviews a more authentic and personal feeling in Kayla’s opinion. Kayla’s favorite movies at the moment are The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Knives Out, and Moonrise Kingdom. She hopes to write opinion pieces for The Eyrie, so she can share different perspectives on certain topics.

Kaylah W. is a high school student at AirPort High School and is currently in her last year attending High School. Kaylah doesn't play any sports, but that still doesn't stop her love for volleyball. Kaylah was born in Hobart, Indiana but moved back and forth between Chicago and Indiana until she eventually moved to Arizona in 2017. This, however, wasn't permanent because she eventually moved to Columbia, SC in 2023. Kaylah has taken a previous writing course and was top of her AP Lang class when attending school in Arizona her junior year. Kaylah doesn't particularly enjoy watching the news but she does love her weather app. When Kaylah is not at school she's usually spending time with family and playing with her dogs. Kaylah is quite an introvert around people, but she's the biggest extrovert around family and friends. Kaylah doesn't quite enjoy long lectures, however she does enjoy conversations . Kaylah Williams is going to School for medicine so she would love and enjoy writing about that, but she also enjoys a good argument about the world and the economy today. Kaylah has a good personality and if she's not or when She's not writing she could offer a lot of contributions to the class.

Laila is a 17 year old senior that attends Airport High School. She was born at the Palmetto Baptist Hospital on September 10, 2005. Laila lives in Redbank, South Carolina. As of right now, her only extracurricular activities include being an active member of Beta Club and participating in French Club, but she may start looking for a job. Although she played basketball in middle school, Laila is no longer involved with any sports and decided to just focus on her academics.
Laila has taken English 1, 2, 3, 4, and AP Literature throughout her years as a student at Airport High School. AP Literature prepared Laila the most for Journalism out of the other courses. She will be shown Citizen Kane for the second time, the first time being in AP Literature, so she already knows the relevance the movie has to journalism. Laila also has a strong interest in watching the news in order to keep up with current events that consist of anything from politics to celebrity gossip. Her favorite television channel to watch the news is MSNBC and her favorite app to receive news from is Twitter.
During her free time, Laila enjoys watching movies with friends and family, going shopping, drawing, playing video games, reading, and listening to music. Four movies that she saw so far this year were The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and Barbie. Out of those four movies, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Barbie, were Laila’s favorites, and she loved those movies so much that she became hyperfixated on them. When listening to music, Laila is either listening to R&B, Rap, Classic Rock, or 70s and 80s Pop. Her favorite R&B singer is SZA and her favorite classic rock band is Queen.
For The Eyrie, Laila hopes to write about the history of anime and key people that started that type of animation. Besides writing, she is looking forward to making artwork as well.
Nia J.

Nia J. is a fourteen, soon to be fifteen, year old 9th grader at Airport High School. She was born on January 14, 2008 on a busy Monday morning in Columbia, SC. At Airport High Nia has been on the marching/concert band and has been on the track team her 8th grade year! She plans to have a successful and happy freshman year!
Nia Jenkins' qualifications for the Eyrie are her previous English classes that she has taken over the years. Nia Jenkins also has writing experience from the writing tests she has taken over the years to prepare her. Nia has always enjoyed reading interesting articles from journalists, bloggers, reporters, and more. Nia also enjoys watching different news outlets with interesting and important information about different topics.
In her free time she enjoys watching YouTube, singing karaoke, dancing, playing video games, listening to music, producing beats, and writing songs and raps. Her interests are music, science, fashion, acting, and anything that makes her laugh, to name a few. She loves laughing, positive vibes, and having fun with friends and family! Her favorite colors are lavender and green. Nia would be described as a sweet, shy at times, fun-loving person. She plans to contribute interesting, insightful, entertaining pieces of work to The Eyrie!
Olivia D.
Olivia is a 14 year old freshman that was born and raised in South Carolina. Olivia doesn’t currently participate in any extracurricular events or activities at Airport High School, but she hopes to find something she is passionate about doing. The only class Olivia has aspirations in getting is advanced art in every grade, because she hopes to find a career doing something with visual arts. In her free time, she enjoys making artwork for herself and others, and hopes to make art to sell. But on the weekends, she spends her time working at a Greek restaurant, called Zorbas, to make enough money for a car in future years. But, while Olivia thinks she is good at visual arts, she also feels passionate about writing and going through multiple advanced English classes. She has been able to stay in advanced English classes throughout her middle school years, and hopes to continue the record in high school. In her time during her Journalism class, she hopes to be the person to cover all the historically important events that revolve around crime.
Reagan S.​
Reagan S. is a 9th grader at Airport High School. She is 14 years old, and was born on October 1, 2008. She lives in South Congaree with her mom, dad, and younger brother who attends Fulmer Middle School. She plays tennis for Airport and is planning to be involved in the student government later on. She plans to take journalism again in years to come. She is excited for her freshman year!
Reagan’s qualifications for The Eyrie are previous English classes she has taken over the years. Journalism was never a topic of interest, but now that she is in the class, she is looking forward to learning about the media. She does not have experience writing articles, but she enjoys writing essays and journaling. She is looking forward to writing for The Eyrie!
In Reagan’s spare time she likes to read, listen to music, go shopping, eat Mexican food, watch movies, and hang out with her friends and family. She loves the color orange, Taylor Swift, fall, and traveling. Reagan dislikes science, waking up early, and olives. Reagan is very helpful, accountable, kind, encouraging, and loves to laugh. She plans to contribute interesting and entertaining pieces of work to The Eyrie!
Savannah C.​
Savannah C. is 16 years old and was born on March 6th, 2007. She is a Junior at Airport High School. She was born and raised in West Columbia, South Carolina. She participates in extracurricular activities such as reading, writing, hanging out with friends, and playing sports. She has been a part of the soccer team since her 7th grade year and now participates in tennis as well.
Savannah has taken English 1 Honors at Fulmer Middle School, English 2, and 3 Honors at Airport High School and will be taking English 4 honors in the spring. Prior experience Savannah has in Journalism is writing essays in English class, writing in her own notebook, and reading and annotating her favorite books. While Savannah doesn’t have much interest in news, she does keep up with current events in the world. She tends to watch the local news.
For The Eyrie, she would like to help spotlight how others feel about her school and what others feel is important to them. Savannah is a big advocate in communicating, she wants others to feel as if they are heard no matter what they are feeling. She would like to bring notice to not only her sport, but other sports as well. Savannah would like for students who participate in sports to speak on how they deal with their sport and their education. Contributions she would like for The Eyrie is poetry.
When she is not at school, Savannah enjoys being with her bestfriends, taking drives, going shopping, getting lunch, taking trips to the beach, reading poem books, writing notes to her friends, and playing with her dog Scout. Savannah enjoys watching scary movies. To describe Savannah and her personality, I would say she is Kind, Affectionate, Encouraging, Friendly, and Bubbly. In the future, Savannah would like to attend college to major in Journalism and Communications. Through writing for The Eyrie, she would like to learn how to become a better writer and make her voice heard.

Shamirah G. is a 9th grade student who goes to Airport High School. She is 14 years old, and was born January 2, 2009. She is the youngest daughter of 7, and has 2 older sisters and 5 older brothers. Shamirah lives in Gaston, South Carolina and is from Estill, South Carolina. So far Shamirah is taking biology honors, she tries to keep her grades between A’s and B’s. Shamirah wants to try and graduate her junior year instead of her senior year. She is working towards being a real estate agent, which she wants to start taking her classes at 17.
Besides school, in her free time she’s at home watching TikTok or YouTube, but she's not really a people person. She doesn't like being around a lot of people. Shamirah is taking this class so that she can get into learning more how to type and word her sentences better because she wants to be a real estate agent and that comes with a lot of work and typing. Her goal is to be successful before she leaves high school and already have her life planted out, so that when she gets out she has everything figured out and just has to get to it.
Sydney E.​
From West Columbia, SC, Sydney Camille Edmond is a 17 year old senior who attends Airport High School. Not only is she a high school student, she’s also a college student who attends Midlands Technical College through the Dual Enrollment Cohort program. In May 2023, Sydney graduated with her General College Studies Certificate, and plans to graduate with her high school diploma and Associates in Applied Science next May. This past spring, she was given a certificate as a Junior Marshal, who academically placed in the top ten percent of her class. Sydney is also part of the Senior Beta Club.
Sydney has taken English I, II, and III in high school and has also taken English Composition I and II and English Literature in college and maintained A’s and B’s in each of those classes. She has experience in working in the media ministry at her church, she broadcasted announcements and dedication videos before the congregation. She also worked on the Yearbook Committee in middle school where she took pictures and wrote descriptions throughout the book. Sydney doesn’t watch many shows, but she does keep up with Shade Room and TMZ.
Outside of school, Sydney volunteers at Mission Lexington, which is a faith-based social services organization. She spends her time donating clothes and items and working in the thrift department every weekend. As far as other things outside of school, she works at Schlotzsky’s Deli, partnered with Cinnabon, part-time as a team member. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her friends, doing different activities (bowling, movies, etc.). On The Eyrie, Sydney hopes to write about the reality of school and up-to-date topics that students can relate to. Besides writing, she hopes to be able to include input from other students that we can include in The Eyrie.
Taylor P.​
Taylor is a 16 year old who goes to Airport High School. He was born and lives in West Columbia, South Carolina. He’s in the 11th grade and English I and II has been the main courses in school that have given him lots of experience. If you were to ask Taylor to describe himself, he’d say he’s a pretty shy person and likes to keep to himself, but he can be very talkative once you’ve gotten to know him. Also, his love for reading and writing has influenced his interest in journalism in a big way. He loves to talk about movies, games, music, and art as a whole. He doesn’t really like to watch the news that much, but he still keeps up with events that may be going on currently. He spends his time reading and learning about certain topics that he takes extreme interest in. He also loves to listen to music in his spare time. Besides writing, a contribution that he would like to make is being able to take photos for journalism, as he also loves photography. He hopes that he can write reviews about movies or music and any other forms of entertainment that might catch his eye.
