What fashion trends are HOT and what fashion trends are NOT? Airport students give their heated take

by Nia J.

Fashion!!!! Fashion!!!!!! Fashion!!!! It is such an important part of the world we live in. Since the dawn of time people have been dressing to impress. Everybody has their own style, is trying to find it, or is trying to change it! Everyone also has their own opinion on things that make them APPALLED in fashion.

I interviewed several students at Airport High school. We will figure out the juicyyyy details of what fashion trends these unique individuals think are HOT and what fashion they think are NOT. Let's get into it!

“What fashion trends do you think are HOT and what fashion Trends do you think are NOT!?”

Terriana J., a freshman at Airport responds, “ I don’t know, I think people wear what they want to wear. I do really like the skater style though.”

The skater style is a timeless laid-back style of fashion. It is known to be very cool. Staples of this style are baggy pants, graphic tee’s, and sneakers. This style was normally worn by skateboarders. What do you think of this style?

Amare J, a freshman at Airport responds, “ Fashion trends that I think are like BAD are you know just putting on random stuff like you can't just come out the house with a striped shirt and polka dot pants, you know what I'm saying. I like Y2K that's cool, I like that, I like that”

Seems like Miss Amare has an ick for mixed patterns! Mixed patterns is a style where people mix different prints or patterns in their look. For example a Cow print shirt mixed with a striped skirt. She thinks it is uncoordinated.

Amare also has a liking towards Y2k style. Y2k is a style that was worn in the early 2000’s. A lot of trademarks of the style are low-rise jeans, low-rise denim skirts, bedazzled clothes, chunky heels, colorful velvet tracksuits. Some people who popularized the style were icons like Aaliyah, Destiny’s Child, and Paris Hilton.
