Top 10 issues with Airport High School

Airport High School is a High School in Cayce, South Carolina. The high school offers grades 9-12 and opened in 1958 and is ranked 133rd in the state of South Carolina, Airport contains over 1,300 students. But just like any other school, it has a number of issues. During this interview with students these are the top 10 issues I heard. Airport High is not full of bad issues, however, as many great teachers and opportunities.
Bathrooms
Many students express issues with the bathrooms at Airport, students say that sewer issues cause them to stink, they are never clean, and the bathrooms are always closed.
2. Fights
There are many issues with fighting during school, students claim fights are pointless and a waste of time to do at school, and sometimes they prevent others from getting to class.
3. Vaping
Students claim vaping is another issue at Airport saying that vaping is a reason the bathrooms are always closed and that vaping causes health problems.
4. Hallway Traffic
Students claim the hallway traffic causes many issues getting to class on time. Slow walkers, big groups of students blocking the halls, students showing PDA in the halls, and people stopping to talk in the middle of the halls are all issues with hallway traffic.
5. Hygiene Issues
Many students claim hygienic issues distract others and cause problems focusing in class. The smells linger and can cause classes to stink.
6. Temperature
Some students state that temperature becomes an issue, in some classes it is very hot and humid while others are very cold. Also if the room already stinks and it becomes hot it makes the smells linger around even longer. High temperatures prevent students from focusing a lot of the time
7. Assignments
Many students express issues with teachers over-assigning work and not giving long enough deadlines for the assignments, with the load of assignments and short deadlines many students don’t finish their work which makes the grade for the class drop significantly
8. Teachers
One student, who would like to remain anonymous, says teachers are a main problem. They go out of their way to cause drama and problems. Along with being “too serious about their job” and “not putting enough effort into teaching” the student believes teachers try to use their authority against students.
9. Profanity
A freshman states that profanity is a huge issue, that students have no respect towards teachers and talk and say inappropriate things no matter where they are or the circumstance
10. Students
Students are a main issue at Airport High. They are very disrespectful and do not show respect towards others. They are very loud, obnoxious, and they tear the bathrooms apart and are a part of the reason the school is in the condition it is in. If the students treated the school with more respect we would have a nicer and cleaner school.
