There's nothing too wrong with hoodies at school

Hoodies/ hats should be allowed in school/class . Some teachers think that hoodies can be a safety hazard. They think that because wearing a hoodie can make it harder to identify an intruder or a student who has done something bad. Other teachers note that wearing our hoodies allows us to hide earbuds more easily, which might be a safety concern if there were an emergency announcement that students needed to hear. According to teachers, hoodies make it harder to make eye contact with a student and makes it hard to make sure we're on task. The most common reason why teachers are against hoodies is because to them hoodies are disrespectful. While these points are valid, the cons of hoodies do not outweigh the pros.

In order for us students to learn and do work we should be comfortable. Comfort leads to better learning and better focus . Wearing hoodies helps make it more comfortable in class. Now think of the fact that students with anxiety disorders or other mental health problems may find it necessary to wear a hood in order to focus. Also when you think about it hats have been part of trends for many years . Hats are just another thing of clothing just like a shirt or some pants. Hoodies don’t distract others or the students any more than a sweatshirt would. Wearing hoodies or hats doesn’t affect us students' ability to learn. Hats and hoodies are the only stylistic choice that does not put anyone in danger.

It’s starting to get cold outside and if you are or stay warm a hoodie becomes your best friend. In school the only place it’s warm is the hallways . Now in the classrooms it is freezing like the vents aren't blowing no warm air. Hoodies have hoods to cover ears and faces . During winter when it’s cold outside hats and hoods should be allowed.

In conclusion, while all of us students understand the adult point of view and could probably do less protesting about wearing hoodies, the adults are making a mountain out of a mole hill. I get that wearing hoodies or hats indoors could be a little disrespectful but I feel like every now and then we should be able to wear them.
