SCAD visits AHS during school day; presentation given to all students
by Olivia D.
On Wednesday, October 11, a presentation was given to all students during “nest” time, to show Savannah's College of Art and Design features and campus to students. The presentation was shown to influence possible future students that wish to enroll in the school.
SCAD is one of the most known schools that center around the arts in the world. Throughout the years, SCAD college has sent presenters to visit AHS in hopes of inspiring students. The presenter answered the questions asked by all students.
The common questions students had during the presentation were “ how can you register?”, “ is there an online course?”, “Can someone take dual enrollment during this school year?”, which were all answered by the presenter. The presenter made it very clear that the only students that can enroll currently are juniors and seniors, and they can enroll online. If students wanted to visit the campus, they can sign up for the weekly tours given, and take SCAD’s summer program.
A common theme throughout the answers given by anonymous students throughout campus were positive. During the presentation given, students seemed very involved and joined in the discussion given by the presenter.
Although most of the comments about the presentation were positive, there were some comments that were both positive and negative. For instance, an anonymous freshman stated, “ It (SCAD) looked really cool! The campus looked really inviting and fun for students, but it does look really expensive.”
Throughout the presentation, the presenter mainly focused on the beautiful campus and the multiple majors/ minors students can take in SCAD. The school's large repertoire of education and majors leads it to be one of the most looked at schools world wide.
