Review of ‘The Wild Robot’ and what other reviews think about it

By Adrian P.

If you are looking for a good time to settle down and watch an hour long movie that may have the potential of making you tear up out of sheer emotion, Here is a review based on a newly hit movie titled The Wild Robot.  This could be great for AHS students to view for a date night, friends night out, or family night.

Based on what I have seen myself,  as well as what I have seen from trailers back in September before I eventually watched It, I personally believe that the WildRobot is definitely a must watch. The film tells the story of a self-conscious robot by the name of ¨Roz¨ who was involved with the wreckage of a ship, on a stranded desert island, thus realizing it now must adapt to the wildlife around him, and how he will thrive there. As he does, he realizes that other living creatures coexist with each other on this island, growing a fond delicacy with the creatures that inhabit the island with him; but the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, as Roz later goes to realize that not all animals get lucky, realizing an infant gosling has been left by its parents, alone to wander the world itself. However, the plot twists on us when the once baby, now matured gosling learns that Roz had accidentally caused the death of the poor gosling's parents. There was also a scene where it revealed that Roz is a woman, as another female robot was… uh, let's just say she was getting too comfortable with Roz, and she was okay with it, showing she might be a lesbian robot.

The movie goes to show that living things do not have to compete to reign superior, when they can all coexist and have good intentions with one another, thus being mindful of one another, as well as being kind and humble with nature, as It may also demonstrate that every living being will grow to have even the slightest of sympathy for another who may feel left out, or alone in the world. That, and once you are old enough, that mother instinct will never hesitate to kick in, although almost everyone will have that sudden urge to cater to a younger individual that is alone, as nobody deserves to go through life like that. And finally, it can show that sometimes, you will have someone hold grudges against you, responsible or not, yet another lesson of life you can either accept, or run from. Oh, & that you like who you like, no matter what species.

Lacie Z. said when interviewed that "Roz & the baby goslings bond had reminded her of the bond between that of the iron giant, and Hogarths´ bond.¨

Leo A. stated that ¨she should be more like the robot, having more patience and care, as if she had not already with how many pets she's told me about.

The respective author of the series, Peter Brown, stated in an interview on NBC news that ¨He started feeling kinda awesome¨ and how ¨His book inspired this really special movie,¨ implying that the movie was actually based off of a book, which was apparently being sold in 2016 as his first children's novel. Finally, he stated that ¨Hardcore fans of the book might notice some differences, But regardless, they will enjoy the movie, as it will be gorgeous to view in their perspectives.¨

One review by the Wall Street journal stated it was a thrilling adventure story, whereas another review left by common sense media gave it five stars, and highlighting its themes of family, friendship, and environmentalism.
