Charlotte is one of my good friends, and really loves volleyball and singing in chorus. I decided to interview her because I wanted to learn more about volleyball and why she enjoys it so much. We did the interview on September 24th in the cafeteria, and it was fun hearing her talk about what the sport means to her and how it’s become such a big part of her life.

EH: What is your name?

CW: Charlotte W. [last name redacted]

EH: Ok Charlotte, what grade are you in?

CW: 10th

EH: How has this school year been so far for you?

CW: It’s been pretty good.

EH: What made you decide to play volleyball?

CW: A lot of my family plays volleyball and I just like the idea of it.

EH: Ok. What position do you play on the team?

CW: I’m a setter.

EH: Did you play volleyball for other schools in the past of just Airport?

CW: I played in middle school and then I also played travel ball.

EH: What are you best at when playing volleyball?

CW: I’m really good at being loud and communicating.

EH: Are there any skills you could improve?

CW: Moving my feet and getting to the ball.

EH: What is one thing volleyball has taught you that you use in school?

CW: Problem solving and teamwork.

EH: What is your favorite memory from volleyball?

CW: Me and my travel team went to Virginia for a tournament and that was really fun.

EH: What advice would you give someone who just started playing volleyball?

CW: To not give up because it starts off really tricky but it gets better.

EH: Has playing volleyball affected your high school career?

CW: Um I would say yeah it makes high school easier.

EH: Are there any other activities or clubs you're involved in?

CW: I do FCA and archery.

EH: Have you ever had trouble balancing school and sports?

CW: Yes.

EH: How do you spend your free time?

CW: Playing volleyball and singing.

EH: And what are your plans after high school?

CW: I want to go to college to be an athletic trainer.

EH: Ok thank you.

It was fun getting to talk with Charlotte and learn more about her love for volleyball. I didn’t realize how much it’s taught her or how many other things she’s involved in. I’m glad I got to do this interview and hear more about her goals for the future.
