On July 22, 2025 a bright and shining light went out when John Michael Osbourne, known as the iconic Ozzy Osbourne, sadly left us at the age of 76. He passed away at Harefield Hospital in Jordans, United Kingdom with a heart attack. Ozzy Osbourne connects to my School Airport Highschool because he was once a student just like a lot of us and as a student you love to listen to music while doing your work or just because you love hearing music. In my school lot’s of students and teachers listen to music and everyone has a different taste in music. There must be a couple or a lot of people that listen to his music and enjoy it very well as much as a ton of his fans do.
Osbourne fought a long battle with Parkinson's disease for about 7 years. Ozzy Osbourne was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2019. He then publicly revealed his diagnosis in January 2020 during his interview with "Good Morning America". He was known as a talented and hard working man. He was a singer, songwriter, and had a media personality who co-founded Black Sabbath in 1968. He became the band's lead singer, rising to fame in the 1970s. He was very well known by his fans and so many people but mostly loved and known by his family who loved him so much. Ozzy Osbourne's family remembers him with love and sadness, viewing him as a devoted father who lived life to the fullest. His children, Kelly and Jack, have expressed their grief and shared cherished memories, calling him their "best friend" and "dad". Aimee Osbourne Ozzy’s oldest child hasn't made a public statement over what she felt hearing the tragic news about her dad’s passing. It must have been really hard for her to lose a good father figure and her inspiration. Her sister Kelly also has described her feelings as deep sadness. On an instagram story she posted she stated “I feel unhappy, I am so sad. I lost the best friend I ever had,” quoting the lyrics of Black Sabbath song “Changes.” His family also expressed gratitude for the public's outpouring of support and love.

Some amazing achievements that Ozzy put out for the world was He sold over 100 million records worldwide and is celebrated for shaping modern rock and metal music. His highly successful solo career with hit albums like Blizzard of Ozz, and his enduring, larger-than-life rock and roll persona. Beyond his immense musical impact, his legacy includes a journey of personal resilience through addiction and health challenges, and a dedication to charitable work. He continues to inspire new generations of musicians and fans through his innovative artistry and unique blend of raw energy and dark themes.
Mrs.Warner, a teacher at AHS stated that Ozzy Osbourne was one of her favorite artists and this was her quote about what Osbourne meant to her: “Ozzy Osbourne wasn’t just a musician to me ~ he was my lifeline. During one of the hardest times in my life, it was Ozzy’s voice that reached into the darkness and gave me something to hold on to. His music made me feel less alone ~ like someone out there understood the chaos and the pain, and still had the strength to scream back at the world. Some people said he worshiped the devil, but they never understood the truth ~ Ozzy’s music wasn’t about darkness; it was about surviving it. He spoke to those of us who felt broken, reminding us that it’s okay to be different, to hurt, to fall apart, and still rise again. Seeing him live in concert changed my life. Losing Ozzy feels like losing a piece of my soul, but his legacy, his fire, his voice, his heart—will live forever. You can’t kill rock and roll—it’s here to stay.”
