Irmo beats AHS for the last region game

On January 3 at Irmo High School in a regional basketball game against the Airport Eagles we sadly lost 68-36.

This game was very important for the AHS varsity basketball team because it was a region game we had to win to see if we could've gone to the playoffs.

From the players on the team they already knew it was going to be an upset as Varsity Player #25 Daniel Jeffries said as he was interviewed, ¨The talent at over at Irmo is just elite, I don't think we would've won maybe if we didn't make small mistakes but like I said before I just think Irmo is a better program in general.¨

Stated from other varsity men's basketball players is that they think they didn't play the best and they didn't really play as a team like Daniel stated. Some believe that if they played together more they had a fighting chance against the yellow jackets.

The main message in this is that the basketball team knew they should have done better and let little wrongs get the best of them leading to them not playing together and finishing the game off or atleast fighting to win the game.

As said earlier, Daniel also stated that Irmo was really going to be a struggle as they have an elite big man named Brandon Crawford and shifty guard named Jonathan White, they are also ranked first in their 4a region.
