Malcolm Jamal Warner passed from this life on July 20, 2025 in Limon, Costa Rica. Warner was an actor, director, poet, and musician. He was most famous for playing in the popular 1980s sitcom The Cosby Show. Many students at Airport may be familiar with Warner’s work on this show, as reruns are regularly aired on various public channels, although their presence has changed significantly over the years due to star Bill Cosby’s legal controversies. Costa Rica's Judicial investigation Agency confirmed Warner’s cause of passing was accidental drowning. He was 54 years old.
According to BlackPast.org, Warner was born August 18, 1970. He was born in Jersey City, NJ but moved to Los Angeles at the age of five. His parents were Pamela Warner, who was also his manager and an influence in his career, and his father Robert Warner, Jr.

Malcom Jamel Warner was 14 years old when the Cosby Show premiered and he was 22 years old when it ended in 1992. I have grown to appreciate his talent on and off the screen. He will forever be a popular household name in my family. “
