How to make the juiciest baked chicken

by Janiyah H.

What follows is a recipe for the best baked chicken guaranteed to make your mouth water and have you coming back in the kitchen for more. It’s a JUICY oven-baked chicken recipe sprinkled with a magic simple seasoning, baked until caramelized. It’s simple, fast and incredibly tasty!

I learned to make this recipe from my grandma which is the best cook out of our whole family. I guess you could say she learned it from her mom and so on and so on. I’m deciding to share this recipe with you guys because I believe a good day starts with a great meal. This recipe is guaranteed to carry on in your family and be a dish that will never be forgotten.

Step 1 : CLEAN YOUR CHICKEN. Do Not skip this step. If you want the flavor fullness and tastiness then you want to make sure you don’t skip the most important step.

Step 2: After your chicken is clean, cut off most of the fat. This step is optional but if you're not a fan of fat on chicken then this step would work for you. Some people reserve the fat to render for use in other dishes that require oil or lard, and some people might even bake or fry the skins in a separate dish called cracklings.

Step 3: Preheat your oven to 350 F. Don’t wait to preheat the oven because then the oven will not be warm enough by the time you are ready to put the chicken in it. Always preheat the oven before prepping the food.

Step 4: Season your chicken from front and back, and keep the juice to use it later on throughout the process. You can use any seasonings of your choice but some of my personal favorites consist of

Tony Chachere's

Sazón Tropical

Onion Powder

Garlic Powder

Accent

KingsFord Garlic and Herb

Kings Ford Cajun Style All Purpose

Obey

And many more!

Step 5: Place the seasoned chicken into a pan and make sure theres a little space in between them. You can leave your chicken uncovered or covered, but I usually leave mine uncovered.

Step 6: Take a stick of butter and cut it into decent size squares and place on top of each drumstick. This preserves moistness and more juiciness.

Step 7: Pour the leftover juice that we kept back in step 4 and pour it into the pan where your chicken is, in the open spaces after this you can put aluminum foil over your pan or leave it uncovered, it's up to you. Once this is done go ahead and place your pan in the oven and let cook for at least 25-30 min before peeping in

Step 8: Peep in at your chicken and if the side facing up is brown, go ahead and flip them all over onto the other side, while doing this part take a baster, a spoon or whatever of your choice and use the juice in the pan to put over your chicken, almost like your basing a turkey but in this case its just chicken

Step 9: Once chicken is brown and crispy on the outside, remove pan from oven and base the chicken again.

Step 10: Plate and serve!
