Makeup has been a way for women to express themselves for many years, there are many different products and routines that anyone can follow. Makeup has been trending for many years and has been one of the things that are constantly evolving, along with makeup evolving so do the people who discover makeup and have a desire to learn about makeup. Makeup isn't just a product that you put on your face, it's how you can learn to express yourself with unique styles. ¨The most beautiful makeup of a woman is passion. But cosmetics are easier to buy," once said Yves Saint Laurent.

Applying makeup is far more than just putting products on the skin, it's how you show your unique styles and identities. The steps and choices in makeup are deeply personal and depend on one’s desired look and what they are most comfortable with.  Some people enjoy routines and might want flawless natural results while others experiment and try weird wacky things! Makeup empowers individuals to express who they are, giving them the freedom to choose how they present themselves to the world.

Kassadi H. and Madilyn B. are the go-to people for anything makeup-related! We’ve been practicing and perfecting our makeup skills for about 7–8 years, and now we’re here to help you learn, experiment, and improve too. Makeup takes time and patience and obviously the willingness of wanting to do it.

Before starting your makeup routine, it’s important to clean and take care of your skin properly. The tip to the best makeup look is staring clean with absolutely nothing on your face. Make sure your face is freshly washed or wiped and completely free of makeup. If your skin still has oils or residue, your makeup can end up looking bad or blotchy and uneven. Apply a light moisturizer and allow it to fully absorb before moving on. Once your skin feels smooth and dry, you’re ready to start!.

Step 1-  Clean & Moisturize

Cleaning and moisturizing your face before applying any makeup is one of the most important steps in getting a flawless, long-lasting look. A good skincare routine ensures that your makeup applies smoothly, adheres properly, and maintains a fresh, natural finish throughout the day.

Step 2- Primer

Apply primer to your face as the first essential step in your makeup routine. It’s important to choose a primer that suits your skin type, whether your skin is oily, dry, or somewhere in between. Primer can either be a sticky thick substance usually used by people with oily skin use this kind or it could be moisturizing and soft for people with dry skin. It really depends on your skin type and texture and what you're trying to achieve with your look, do you want it to stay all day? Are you wanting it to look smooth and flawless? It all depends on the first step.

Step 3- Foundation

Foundation is the next crucial step in any makeup routine, serving as the base, you might have to color match and buy multiple different foundations for a perfect shade match, foundation smooths  your skin and color corrects any marks on your face leaving you with a clean slate. it literally builds the base for the entire look. It’s designed to even out skin tone, smooth texture, and create a consistent surface for all other products that follow, like contour, blush, and highlighter.

Step 4- Powder

Powder is a vital step in the makeup process. I recommend Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder or Fenty Beauty Invisimatte Blotting Powder.

After applying foundation and concealer, powder acts as a finishing layer that helps set the products in place, prolonging wear and preventing the makeup from creasing or sliding throughout the day, Powder works to absorb excess oil on the skin’s surface, which is especially crucial for individuals with oily or combination skin. By mattifying the complexion, it reduces shine and keeps makeup looking fresh for hours.

Step 5- Blush

Blush is the next step in bringing warmth back to your face so your face dosen´t look dull,  after setting your foundation and powder. It’s often called the “finishing touch” because it instantly transforms your complexion, adding a natural, healthy glow that mimics how skin looks when flushed with color. It enhances dimension and gives the face a youthful radiance.

Step 6- Bronzer

Bronzer is the step that brings warmth, definition, and dimension to your makeup look. After applying foundation, powder, blush, and bronzer helps revive the skin’s natural tones and adds subtle contour to the face, preventing it from looking flat or one-dimensional.

Step 7- Highlighter

Highlighter is the final touch that elevates your makeup look from polished to radiant. After applying bronzer and blush, highlighter adds a soft glow to the high points of your face, enhancing dimension and giving your skin a luminous, healthy finish.

Step 8-  Eyelashes

The next step you would want to do is your eyelashes. Adding eyelashes help to define your eyes and help to balance out your entire makeup look. There are many different types of eyelashes you can choose from like natural lashes that give off a soft everyday look or thick dramatic eyelashes that help to dramatize your look perfect for a night out. Eyelashes help to add texture and dimension to your look that assists in photos and in real life. Without eyelashes you can often find your makeup looking flat or incomplete.

Step 9- Lips

Adding a lip combo is one of the final touches to help finish off your makeup look it does way more than just adding color to the face a lip combo will help bring the look together. The first thing you want to do when creating your perfect lip combo is adding lip liner to sharpen the edges of your lips to help give a clean sculpted shape and prevent the lipstick from smudging. The next thing you would want to do is add the lipgloss or lipstick of your choice helping to pull the entire combination together. The right lip combo will pull the entire look together. For example, a nude lip helps to balance out heavy eye makeup and a bold red or berry colored lip combo becomes a statement to the look if the makeup is more neutral.

Step 10- Setting Spray

The last and final step to completing a makeup look is adding setting spray. Setting spray makes the makeup last longer and blends together a few sprays can leave you with a skin-like finish giving the makeup a smoother, less cakey look. Matte setting sprays assist in reducing the shine or oil in your makeup which is perfect for hotter weather, dewy setting sprays add radiance making your skin look well hydrated and luminous.

In conclusion, getting flawless makeup isn't easy and it's all about understanding each step you take and taking the time to perfect what technique you're using and how you use it, "Makeup is the finishing touch, the final accessory," by Marc Jacobs. With practice and patience and the correct products that are best for your skin, your makeup routine will be an effortless part of your self expression and confidence, it will take time and take multiple products to find out what truly works for you but it's definitely worth trying and giving it a shot!.
