'Euphoria' is best, most relatable TV show

by Autumn T.

I love Euphoria, it hits really close to home. These amazing actors hit everything dealing with parent and sibling issues, toxic relationships, substance abuse, partying, bullying, blackmailing, stalkers, and LGBTQIA+. It is a trending TV Series. You can find it on HBO Max. Euphoria is a very relatable show. Whether you're an adult or a child you will relate to it, trust me.

One of the reasons why Euphoria is so popular is because it’s relatable. Euphoria is currently averaging 16.3 million viewers each across all platforms. Also a very famous actor is the main character in the HBO series, Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman. Zendaya plays as Rue in Euphoria, and if you didn't know Rue struggles with a lot of stuff. Rue's triggers for substance use issues is her struggle with anxiety, panic attacks, and other mental health issues. 30% of the population struggles with this, 46.3 million people aged 12 or older witness it. Therefore it makes the show very relatable.

Euphoria hits main events and gets you hooked on the show. It is never boring. There is always something going on or some type of plot twist. One of the ways it hooks you in is by making a main topic of mental health. The show points out depression, bipolar, anger issues, substance abuse, and other things. For example, in Season 2 episode "Stand Still Like the Hummingbird" Rue starts freaking out because she needs drugs, so she goes to her best friend (also her drug dealer) to get some, but he cares too much and refuses to give them to her. This causes her to have a mental breakdown and she starts going psycho on everyone and everything… It was very intense. In Fact it was very interesting to watch everything unfold. This is why so many people are hooked on this show.

Another reason why this show is so popular is because Zendaya stars in it. She has Primetime Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award. TIME magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world on its annual list in 2022. This makes her one of the most famous young actors, so people would act fast to see something she stars in and they were not let down after watching it. Zendaya has also played in alot of other popular shows and movies like, Spider man, Cayce Undercover, Shake it up, and Zapped. She also made an appearance in the movie, “Dancing with The Stars.” This makes her name very familiar to a lot of people. Causing her to bring more fans in to see her work. Which never disappoints.

Many people could say, “The show isn't relatable to all people, only for the ones that do drugs." Yes, not all people do drugs. However, the show doesn't just point out substance abuse, it also points out illnesses, toxic relationships, pedophiles, and atc. Or you could say “I don't like this move because there are too many illegal activities.” That is true however, all the show is doing is pointing out real world things, so if anything it is preparing your child for what is to come.

When asked, “Euphoria was a good tv show, why or why not,” Madison L. replied with, “ Yes, the show Euphoria is a good show. It shows what teens may go through in life and how realistic it can be." I then decided to ask Olivia R. the same question and she responded with, "It is a good show, not the whole show is relatable, but throughout the whole show I felt connected to the characters as if they knew what I was going through."

The next seasons of the show is currently in the works and airing soon.
