China threatens U.S entities over downing of balloon; students share thoughts on event

The United States military shut down a suspected Chinese spy balloon off the coast of South Carolina on February 4, 2023. Airport High School students and teachers are concerned.

This information is considered important due to the reason that this measurement can prevent many events like terrorist attacks from taking place.

Information given and found by the federals of South Carolina indicates that the balloon was very dangerous and considered even a harm to many civilians, it was stated that the balloon was in fact too dangerous to shoot down.

In addition to this current event the United States sanctioned six Chinese entities it said are linked to Beijing’s response programs.

China says the balloon was an unmanned weather airship that was unintentionally blown off.

Following that, China was roundly denounced by the US House of Representatives for its "brazen violation" of American sovereignty.

Ricsi P, a sophomore at AHS stated, “I believe China sent the balloon directly to the United States to spy on us.’’ Aside from that Risci also added, ‘’I believe if the US wouldn’t have taken the measures to shoot the balloon down the US could have captured any information contained within the balloon’’. Many students and teachers aside from Ricsi have the same belief and ideas when it comes to this event.

Teachers at AHS agree with students thoughts and ideas towards this situation stated by Ms. Martinez, ‘’I think they sent the balloon to distract us from what’s originally happening within their facilities.’’

Aside from AHS teachers and students, civilians are beginning to believe that the Chinese government is trying to find a way to collect inside data and intel on America. Above all, it’s revealed that the US ambassador received information in detail that the chinese balloon was sent to serve as a matter of aggression and hatred.
