Airport gets new baseball head coach; former coach shifts to collegiate ball

Just days prior to the start of the year, former head coach Tim Perry has left Airport High School for a Coastal Carolina job after ten years of being the baseball head coach. He passes the torch down to Casey Bradwell who has been a part of the program for ten years.

Casey Bradwell may be the new head coach, but he has been in the program for ten years and deserves his time in the spotlight, he is ready to lead the baseball team on his own. He has been under the wing of a very good coach and he is going to continue to get better and compete to better the Airport High Schools baseball program. He is very deserving of this job and his players agree he deserves it.

Both Bryson M. and Tyler D. are ecstatic to be having Casey Bradwell as their new head coach. They were asked, “Do you think someone else should have got the job?” Following the question, they both responded with how deserving Bradwell is of the head coaching position at Airport High School.

“We all love coach Bradwell, he connects with us on a personal level as well as being a great baseball coach,” says Bryson M, a senior pitcher, “There's not a single other person that the team would pick someone else,” he added.

“I feel pretty good, I feel like we are going to have a great season,” says Tyler D, a senior outfielder that has been on the team all 4 years of high school

Coach Perry has moved on to Coastal Carolina to help coach their baseball team. He is going to be the Director of Player Development & Analytics at Coastal Carolina, according to an article found on ColaDaily.com. Tim Perry had been at Airport since 2011-12 where he had a record of 165-96-2 with two state championship appearances in 2013 and 2018. He also won four region championships, four district titles, two lower state titles, and had several of his players go on to play college baseball, found on News 19.

In sum, both Bryson M. and Tyler D. are excited to have coach Bradwell as their new head coach. This fresh start for the Airport High School baseball team is just what they needed, and they cannot wait for the awesome season they have ahead of them.
