AHS bathroom shenanigans? An underwhelming fly-on-the-wall-for-a-very-brief-moment feature
The bathrooms at Airport High School are for the most part quiet, but when they aren't what else could be going on in there. When most kids ask to go to the bathroom they mostly mean it but some go there to do other things that aren't peeing or pooping.
At AHS we have a rule where we can only go out after the first 20 minutes of class and before the last 20 minutes of class. Some teachers follow this policy but some don’t go by this. When students do go out most go to the restroom and come back but some stand around and do nothing. Some students don't even go to the bathroom and instead they walk around the school and pretend that they're going somewhere.
After going into multiple bathrooms after each bell rang I observed different things but they all mostly the same. In the 500 hall and both 400 hall bathrooms I mainly found people just hanging out on their phones. If they have to use the stall they wait their turn, but once they finish they stay there till they feel like leaving. While I was going into one of the bathrooms someone was leaving it and when I was just about to leave it they came back in.
I asked Tyler W. about what he’s seen in the bathrooms and he said, “I’ve seen people stand there on their phones doing nothing." He also stated, “I’ve done it myself a few times when I'm bored in class."
To get a true sense of what goes on the AHS bathrooms, more than a brief moment as a fly on the wall is needed.
