A day in the life of Mrs. LeVeck

by Macie M.

When interviewing Mrs. LeVeck, a third year English teacher here at Airport High School but with over fifteen years total in education, she told me how she goes about her days as a teacher and as a mother.

On typical days Mrs. LeVeck wakes up at 4:30 every morning and goes for a run at planet fitness, when she gets back from her run she gets herself ready for the day and then later wakes her kids up at 6:30 for school where they attend Saint Joseph Catholic School.

When she gets to school she as she quoted, “it is planned, scheduled, and I have objectives that I want to meet and my students, and with everything in place.”

Mrs LeVeck stated, ”Routine is security for everybody.”

When being asked about her favorite part of the day Mrs. LeVeck stated, “When my kids get stuff, and they figure things out on their own that is really cool, I really really like that.” Mrs. LeVeck also stated that another favorite part of her day was “making fun of Caitlin Rasmussen," although it is hard to tell if she was being facetious or not.

After school Mrs. Leveck goes and picks up her kids from their school. She stated that when they get home they eat dinner, do homework, take baths, then it's time for bed. Her days are still very figured out and organized even when she leaves school and goes home for the day.

Mrs. Leveck also spends most of her free time with her son's little league baseball team. They usually play two games a week and practice at least once a week.

Her favorite people to talk to during the school day are Dr. Rasmussen, Mrs.Atkins, Ms. Muller, and Coach West. She stated, “I make it a point to check in with each of them every single day because they are those I adore”.

If Mrs. LeVeck was not an English teacher, she said she would be working as a kidney doctor (nephrologist).

The part of her day she looks most forward to is when she gets up in the early mornings and it is just her and the dogs in a quiet house of people sleeping. She also enjoys when she picks up her kids from school and just to see their expressions on their face of her getting them, “Is something I cannot accurately describe”.

She goes about her days very planned out and organized. Being organized is what helps her manage her time and her school week while she is teaching here at Airport High School.
