Students anticipate fall activities
Fall has finally arrived in the Northern Hemisphere, and in America all the festivities are fast approaching. Seasonal drinks and snacks, corn mazes and haunted houses, and of course no one can forget the holidays after that. Airport High School students, like most of the nation, are excited about the crisper weather, pumpkin-flavored everything, and chunky sweaters, to name a few.
Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are some of the most well-known holidays in the US.
Fall and it's holidays are such an important thing in today’s culture. Most of everyone’s favorite holidays are this time of year, and the most breaks for school are at this time of year too. Furthermore, millions of dollars are spent on holidays each year. According to the National Retail Federation, in 2018, about $9 Billion was spent on Halloween in the US.
Unsurprisingly, in 2015, US citizens spent about $626.1 billion on the fall/winter holidays, more than any other holiday season.
Emma B., a freshman here at Airport high school, said the fall/winter season was her favorite season.
A lot of people love fall. In school, Fall and Winter break are two of the most awaited breaks.
On average, about 33% of the US population are expected to spend at least $1000 on gifts for Christmas. Over a third of the population plans to give to charity events. All statistics come from the National Retail Federation.
This fall season, go do a corn maze or haunted house for the first time, or watch more scary movies. Halloween only comes once a year! Spend time with your family during Thanksgiving and Christmas. Decorate a little more for each holiday.
