The annual Third Block Throwdown resulted in almost $10,000 in pledges, and if the overall goal of $60,000 is achieved for charity drive overall, that means students raised 20% of the total in just one day. The throwdown took place on Thursday, March 7.

There are multiple events going on daily to raise money. Student government spends all year planning these events and working the events the week of. One of the events that raises the most amount of money is Third Block Throwdown.

“Third block throwdown is very important,” said Lainey P, “because it raises over twenty percent of our charity money."

Third Block Throwdown is an event held during everyone’s third class. The idea is to call as many people or businesses that you personally know, and get people to pledge money. Then you go receive the money and turn it in. Third block throw down is important because we would not be able to achieve our goal of $60,000 without it.
