More standardized testing soon to come

With standardized testing around the corner, loads of third years will be taking either the ACT, WIN, or the SAT, which will go beyond college preparedness. The ACTs will take place on 2/20/2019 while WINs will take place on on 4/3, and then the SATs will take place on 4/9. There will be no delayed starts on the Wednesdays of testing.

For those taking these tests,, students may want to consider getting a good night's sleep the night before, eating a fresh and healthy breakfast the next morning, and arriving to school on time ready to perform the tests. The schedule will operate on a regular basis as students will go directly to their first block class for “E” block before going to their lunch break, just like on Monday’s, UNLESS if testing has been extended further ahead.

For students taking the ACT, be sure to know the expectations colleges have for incoming freshmen. For instance, if you are going to Clemson, you must have a composite range of 26-31. If you go to South Carolina, the composite range must be about 25-30. These results for these top schools in the state range in between five points.

For those that take the SAT, it should be absolutely no hassle or any issue for those that have been studying so hard as well as maintaining a good GPA. For students going to Clemson, the range in 560-660 in reading and 590-680 in mathematics. If you’re going to South Carolina, both reading and math range from 560-660. If you are wanting to go to Furman, SAT results are not required whatsoever. But if you don’t meet those results, you will be classified as ineligible.

More information based on these results can be found on the ThoughtCo official site.

“I’m hoping to go to South Carolina. If I’m taking the ACT, I want to at least earn a 25-30 range or better, but at least I don’t expect such a perfect result," said Carl A., “even if it is worth a shot." The results are expected to be in as soon as possible once all standardized testing is done.
