Students still hate on school lunch

In schools across the nation students will all have different opinions on the lunch that is served to us. In our school, two students give their opinions from their own experiences: Jeru R. and John M.

This topic is important because it allows other people to see how a student thinks about the school lunch. This shows how the school could make some changes if needed. It is something that gets talked about often. The quality of the food is something that is not overlooked that much it would seem.

When I was doing the these interviews it was kind of a coincidence that both of these students seemed to have similar past experiences. They were able to talk about how the lunch can occasionally have bad food. They mentioned how they wouldn’t want food that didn’t look right to eat.The other thing they had in common was how the drinks were still alright.

They had talked about their bad food like it being burnt,or it having hair when the food we are supposed to be receiving is supposed to be good quality. They said the food not where it really should be.When the food is looking bad it they didn’t really want it.The food needs to be better prepared instead of being rushed.

Jeru R., a student, said the school lunch food is “mediocre….like….really mediocre.”

John M/ said on the topic of food standard, “Uhh, .honestly I don’t because I feel they could improve it no doubt cause when I was a kid in elementary school they had different regulations. It was definitely a lot better standard then what we got now.”

John M. on some more of his dislikes refereed to “the dryness mainly, and ah the taste no doubt.”

In the opinions of the lunches they are really just wanting to have food that seems to have more care put into the food. They want to have the staff watch out for what they do when making the lunches. There shouldn’t be a student who has a bad lunch and might not be able to get what they want because of what was wrong on their lunch.Their shouldn’t be any expired or out of date foods/drinks that are for the students to have for food.

There was some other information I came across on the New York Times that had said the students were throwing out food in the trash. This is essentially throwing out money which the school could use to improve the foods.

In a Huffington Post article that I saw it talked about how a teacher had let students share their opinions on the schools lunch. The outcome of their opinions were mostly saying how their were problems with food and how some stuff may have not been right for food.

There is plenty of more information that could be found on this topic by simply searching and reading through some of them. This topic will probably continue to be around as long as their are still problems with the food.
