How to plan the perfect beach vacation in 6 easy steps

Have you ever wanted to go on a vacation but been completely lost with what to bring? Follow these easy steps to help you pack and plan for your journey!

  1. Know the right time of when to go. Sometimes South Carolina weather is very unpredictable so you have to schedule the trip around when the weather looks good.

  2. Figure out where you want to stay and how long you would like to stay. Whether you choose a house for a week or a hotel for the night you can still have fun. “I would much rather stay in a house,” said Megan M, a senior at AHS, “you have so much more room.”

  3. Choose the right people to take with you. Take people you know won’t aggravate you along the trip and that you can always get along with.

  4. You must bring the basic everyday clothes and necessities as well as bathing suits, sunscreen, towels, sandals/flip flops, snacks and bags to put trash in while you are on the beach. “Don’t forget the aloe for sunburns!” said Jayden H, a freshman at AHS.

  5. Once you get to the beach there are tons of options of activities you can do with friends and family such as swimming, surfing, scuba diving, collect seashells, take a night on the strip or my favorite find sharks teeth!

  6. When you reach the end of your stay, whether you stayed in a house or a hotel, check and make sure you have left nothing behind! Sometimes stuff will fall under beds or behind dressers and it’s easy to forget about it.

I hope these six easy steps help you plan your own perfect beach trip!

FYI, the most popular beaches in South Carolina for vacation are Myrtle Beach, Folly Beach, and Edisto Island. This spring break, 18 percent of U.S. students say they are going on vacation this year, 22 percent will be going to spend time with family, and 27 percent will be working, according to Stastica.com.
