MOVIE REVIEW: The Strangers, Prey at Night
In the second installment of The Strangers series comes a non-stop thrill ride inspired by true events, certain to leave the viewers' hairs on end.
The Strangers, Prey at Night, was directed by Johannes Roberts, also known for his other works, 47 Meters Down and The Other Side of the Door. Released on March 9th, 2018, Johannes delivers his best jump-causing scenes in one production.
As a family of four travel to their uncle’s trailer park to visit and potentially move in, they have no idea of the twisted and horrifying terror that is awaiting them. Their adventure soon is put on halt after three strangers in masks decide to terrorize them. Splitting up and choosing a victim from the family, each member is faced with a unique challenge. Hiding in various places, getting attacked at every turn, and even fighting to the death.
To put into perspective, former Airport high school student Jose V. says, “This movie brings out the fear you thought you never had.”
According to Rotten Tomatoes, a website used for movie reviews and ratings, this movie only appeals to fans who have been waiting for a sequel. Although the ratings were low, It is not a true representation of the movie.This movie was better than the first one by a long shot, as most of the action scenes had incredible detail and you could tell lots of planning took place for the scene.
On a scale of one to ten, this movie deserves a solid nine. The way that the director incorporated 80’s pop music in the soundtrack added an extra level of creepiness to the antagonists. If you enjoy movies that make you jump, this one is sure to do so.
