Seniors’ high school experience approaches end

The last moments of high school are one of the most important and memorable experiences of someone's life. AHS seniors are both ready and terrified of the idea of leaving but still manage to enjoy these moments with friends and teachers.

Students sometimes overlook the significance of figuring oneself out in high school because they are so eager to get out. As adolescents get older they learn to appreciate everything that surrounds them. That is how AHS seniors feel knowing that the end is approaching. Who would've thought four years would go by so fast?

The most interesting event that every senior is looking forward to is prom, and the next big thing is graduation. Every senior has had both amazing and terrible moments in their high school experience. Having spent the days laughing with friends at lunch is always a good reminder of how nice these moments were. Some on the other hand can bring a terrible remembrance, for example, getting in trouble by teachers and having to stay for after school detention isn’t always peachy.. Overall, it’s been a good four years, and a long ride for these seniors.

Jalen P., a senior at AHS, said. “Ms. Southern made it hard because she graded everything like a college class, and I was only a freshman.”

“If I don’t know how to do taxes, then I’m not ready,” said Alissa R., a former senior who is not ready to leave high school.

Alissa R. also said, “Having memorable conversations with teachers,” when asked for her favorite memory.

Most students are thrilled to see what’s in store for them. Their families cannot wait to to see them cross the stage of their graduation. Everyone will be there to cheer them on and support what these students have done the past years.

There is a good percentage of seniors at Airport that are eligible for the LIFE scholarship. The percentage is 62%, which means over half of the seniors will have the benefit to receive financial aid.

The state graduation rate is 80%, but Airport's is much higher.
