Students strive to skip last days

The students at Airport High School feel like they don't have to go to school on the last two days because they do not think it is important to go on two half days since most assume they will not be doing anything really. The two half days will be on May 30 and 31.

Most students say why should they go to school on the last days while they could start their summer break early, but parents say that their kids should go because you never know what you will be doing on those days, so you need to go just in case. Another reason the parents said their kids should go to school is that they need their peace and quiet on them days.

Another reason why students should go on the half days is because if you have a bad grade in a class, and you are doing work in those classes then those assignments might bring your grade up a few points. If you do not go and you do have work to do, then those assignments will go in as a zero and bring your grades down even more than they already are.

One student said, “ I am not going because I do not feel like going,” to me I feel like that students should go instead of not going just because they do not “feel like it.” He also said, “ I am not going because I have plans,” to me it depends on what type of plans it is, if you are going on vacation then yes, I would not go to school, but if it is going to your friends house then it can wait until school is over.

My sister said, “I am going because my mom is making me,” which she is also making me go too. She also said, “I am [also] going because I want to say bye to my friends, and bring my grades up just a little more.” To me I don't care about saying bye to my friends because I will see them next year and I can just call them.

I can see why students are and are not going to school on the last two days. If it was up to me, I would not go on them days because I do not see the point in going only to bring your grades up and just to say bye.
