Mr. Bailey, student government add final touches to charity Drive
Charity Drive started Thursday, February 23, and Mr. Bailey, the student activity coordinator, is preparing the final touches on all the events.
Charity Drive is an Airport tradition that sends cancer patients to Camp Kemp. We have been putting on Charity Drive since 1994. Each year we raise money, last year’s total was over $40,000. Last year we also sent over 30 kids to Camp Kemp, and this year we hope to send even more. Charity Drive is very important to AHS because it lets our students give back to the community.
Mr. Bailey is new to Airport, and this is his first Charity Drive. Although this is his first year, he has a high goal of $60,000. Student government has planned events from spirit nights, at different restaurants every night, to different games our students can pay to play and watch.
Angell Weaver, freshman Vice President, says she is stressed but excited for Charity Drive.
Although Charity Drive week is stressful, student government believes they can get the goal.
