Seniors rush to fill out free application

On November 1, any Airport High School student that was either a junior or a senior was able to fill out a free application for Midlands Tech. This event waived the $35 charge for every student with a promo code. This was very beneficial for the student because if a student has about a 3.0 GPA they get free college along with a free application.

The reason Airport has this was because it encouraged students to fill out an application and also for the student who don't have the money for applications. Faculty from Midlands Tech came to the auditorium on Airport's campus where every student brought their tablet and social security number. Where after the students were taken roll they created an account on MTC's website and filled out a free applications and were also offered a chance to sign up for a campus tour.

Some interesting details about the application process was it was extremely easy. It also was free to all students which helped them and their parents. Another thing it helped out with is when you go on a MTC tour of their Airport Campus you don't have to worry about filling out an application before the tour which saves you time.

One of the students that attended the event was Airport student Brianna R. who is an Airport senior planning on going to MTC in fall of 2017. She stated,“I enjoyed the free application, it was easy and quick." She also mentioned that “the only problem I had the whole time was getting my social security number and not being able to find my school with the way I was told to find it." Overall she said it was a pleasant experience and would attend it again if needed.

Every student who attended the event was pleasantly happy with it. Every student who attended got a free application and was signed up for college at midlands tech. The main focus of this event was to further the education of the students at airport which was accomplished.

MTC currently has 10,946 students on their Airport campus. Where 59% of those are female where 41% is male. Their acceptance rate is 65% which is good for all students at Airport High School.
