Competition Cheer wins second place at first match

Over the weekend, the Varsity Cheer Team had their first competition.

Since the beginning of summer, the varsity cheerleading team has been practicing every single day, working hard on their competition routine. That involves practicing a four-sequel jump, difficult tumbling, three different stunts, and putting them all together.

Despite each cheerleader having to handle school, jobs, and any other extracurricular; they all still manage to put 100% effort into the routine. Although there have been ups and down upon the girls and troubling in the routine, every girl loves one another like a family and they always get back on top.

Breyonca T., 11th grade varsity cheerleader, said, “I’m super pumped! I know all the girls will give their all once we hit that competition mat!”

Saturday, October 1st, the girls traveled to Lexington High School for the Lexington Wildcat Classic. Since two other teams dropped out, the girls competed against Cane Bay and won 2nd place! The girls worked super hard and they know next team they’ll work even harder for that first place trophy.

The next competition will be Battle at the Bluff, at River Bluff High School on Saturday, October 8.
