Year of reading begins, for some

Students of airport high school go to the library all the time to read books of different sizes and shapes. Since the library has opened, over a dozen students have visited the place either to use the computer or to check out a book .

Is reading good for you ? Experts say it is .

Why do people read ? “People read for a variety of reasons,“ says Mrs. Cook , a media specialist at AHS. “Some read because they're seeking information, some read for entertainment, and some read to escape into another reality . people read books that pop out at their attention.

Ms. Frith, an English teacher, says, “People tend to read things they can relate to or that they find interesting”. On a recent survey researchers found that one of the most popular book type is science fiction.

Some benefits of reading are that it raises confidence and self esteem, it prevents boredom and promotes relaxation, and it may offer a different point of view. Some studies say that reading may even decrease decrease stress levels. That's probably a good thing during exam time.

Right now the library's most popular section is the young adult book awards. This section has books that cover some kind of controversial issue. Every year the books are different and have a common theme. And if you read an amount of then ,you can vote for the best one of them all .

So many when any of you have free time, maybe you should stop by the library and check out a book.
