Clowns inhabiting nearby woods send locals into flurry
Over the summer, rumors of a clown haunting nearby woods began to emerge, and now the rumor mill of Airport High School has been sent into a flurry.
According to a recent report on WIS news, in dark dark woods behind a few apartment buildings in Greenville County, some rather odd behavior, including clowns trying to lure children into the woods, has been reported. These clowns have since been mobilizing and have been sighted in nearby woods along the edge of Lexington County.
Other reports, shared via social media sites like Facebook, have been made involving clowns attempting to lure children into the woods. The suspects were reportedly utilizing large amounts of money and strange sounds to entice the kids into following them. The kids did what any parent would want and they bolted to the nearest adult notifying them of the creepy clowns.
Students from Airport High School have been flipping out over their coulrophobia. Many fear that the clowns will try luring them soon. Miranda Spires, sophomore who attends Airport, says that the clown activity “has been getting closer to home, [and] it’s quite terrifying.”
Recent clown sightings have been spread all across the nation. Some of the reports of clowns in Greenville, South Carolina were made by Jason D., a friend of some Airport students: “These clowns haven't just came, they've been here a while I've just never thought negative of them.” This is the complete opposite of residents around here as many of them automatically think of them as having criminal intent.
The fear of clowns, although it may seem quite common, only affects approximately 10 to 20 percent of the population, according to Pegasus.edu. The fear hasn't always been as common as it is today. Movies featuring demonic clowns have been showing all across the nation. This only deepens and encourages the fear into many new victims. Showings of movies similar to Steven Kings It only send more people into coulrophobia.
